I saw your tip for lost pressure. It happens to me on my companion sometimes and i've found just doing a pen calibration always fixes it and takes like 15 seconds. Thought you might try that if you like.

I think it works differently with Cintiqs. I have a 24HD and when this problem acts up I can’t open the Wacom Properties at all, much less get the Calibration to come up. Such faulty drivers but what can you do.

Still a handsome piece of advice, I’m going to post this publicly for others in case they would like to try other methods and see what works for them!

Thank you soooooo much for the pen pressure tip! Every time I have to hit restart just to get it back, a little part of my soul dies. You are a lifesaver.

Mine too, anon, mine too.

And you’re very welcome!

another easy way to fix pen pressure for wacom tablets is to go to the "bamboo preference file utility" thingy and hit "remove" under "all user preference" and it usually works for me c:

Definitely a good point to bring up for those of you who have  a Wacom tablet!

This might be a dumb question but I can't figure out how to do it for the life of me- what brush did you use to write the words on the "pen pressure" post? The one where it makes a line have "borders" of a different color? I see people use brushes like that to write words all the time but I've never been able to find the brush. Thank you for your time!

Not a dumb question at all!

It’s not a brush but more of a process so I created a little tutorial for you and anyone else that might need it.

FOR PHOTOSHOP:

1. Create a new layer and write the words that you want in

image

2. Go to Layer>Layer Style>Stroke

image

3. Change settings for the border to your liking

image

4. Click okay and there you are!

image

FOR PAINT TOOL SAI

1. Like before

image

2. Click on your Magic Wand Tool and make sure you have similar settings

image

3. Click on your letters to select

image

4. Go to Selection>Increment(1)

image

5. And

image

6. Make sure to make the new layer under the writing layer

image

7. Deselect(Ctrl + D) and there you go!

Hope that helps!

For Windows.

My friends and I occasionally have this problem so I’ve taught them this simple method that takes less than a minute as opposed to waiting several for your computer to restart(especially if it’s slow).

What’s great about this method is that sometimes restarting your computer wont fix the problem, but this usually will.

MAKE SURE YOU CLOSE ALL YOUR ART APPS.

This is important, otherwise the changes wont take effect. If it doesn’t work the first time, try again, sometimes it takes restarting it more than once.

For Windows 8, search for “services.msc” in your apps and click on the result. Continue from there!

Now go draw, babies!
